The RYA Intermediate Powerboat course is the next step along your powerboat journey. This course is developed to extend your knowledge and understanding how to manoeuvre a powerboat in varying tides and conditions.
The course also focuses on more in-depth pilotage and passage planning for those longer costal trips whilst using charts and onboard chat plotters. At the end of this course, you will be confident to plan, prepare and take a longer costal passage.

Boat handling to the standard of the Level 2 Powerboat Handling course. Knowledge to the level of RYA Day Skipper Theory is recommended. It is also strongly recommended that candidates hold a first aid certificate and a VHF/SRC operator’s certificate.
The minimum age is 12, any under 18s will need a parent or guardian present on the course.
